Bulletin Board

This bulletin board is one of my favorite projects I've done to date! It warmed up my room, added lots of texture, but still remains clean and simple.

I started with the Dalmatian Spot Bulletin Board Paper. I purchased two rolls at Hobby Lobby, but of course, it's out of stock!! Here is a link to the Better Than Paper version. It has larger spots but still gives the same effect.

Next, I added the black burlap around the board in a straight line. I used a staple gun to secure the burlap because it's thick, and I don't want it to move all year. I would suggest stapling the black burlap in the middle, to begin with.

After the black burlap is stapled, I added the natural burlap on top. I began by gathering the natural burlap at one corner of the board, stapling it into place, and then forming a little bubble before gathering and stapling again about 6-8 inches apart. I did this around the entire board.

Now, you should have a straight black burlap layer underneath your cute, bubbled, natural burlap.

Then, you will staple the black burlap towards the gathered sections of the natural burlap. This will add a scalloped effect to the black burlap but allows you to still see it!

The last step is to top off your board with the absolute best string lights! These lights are dainty, warm, and come with a remote control! They plug into the wall and are 33 feet long. They wrapped around my board way more than I expected, and they are my favorite detail in my room!!
